FNA - Ali Reza Rahimi was appointed as managing director of Tehran's popular football club, Persepolis.
Rahimi replaced Ali Parvin, who was appointed as acting managing director of the club after Mohammad Rouyanian resigned from the post in late January. The new Persepolis managing director formerly served as the manager of Sepahan football club.
Rahimi also served as chairman of Iran's Handball Federation between from 1994 to 2010.
Persepolis is the most known football club in Iran with the largest number of fans in Asia and with the record of 9 titles in Iran's former football league and present proffessional league as well as 5 domestic cup titles.
Persepolis Football Club which is based in Tehran was founded in 1963.
