Tasnim - Oceano da Cruz was introduced as the assistant coach of Iran's national football team on Sunday.

In a press conference held in Football Academy in Tehran, Iran coach Carlos Queiroz officially introduced his countryman Oceano da Cruz as his assistant coach.

“First of all, it is my honor to introduce Oceano da Cruz as my assistant coach in Iran football team. We’ve already worked together in Sporting Lisbon. In 1994, Oceano was Portugal captain but we failed to qualify for the World Cup,” Queiroz said.

“Mr. Oceano, we have the chance to work together once again. We have the chance to get the best results along with Iran. I congratulate you on being appointed as Iran assistant coach. Your success means Iran’s success,” Queiroz added.

Oceano da Cruz replaced Omid Namazi, who stepped down from his role as the assistant coach of Iran in late February.
