Nekounam said, "We are improving everyday and getting ready for our match against Thailand. Hopefully with Ghoochannejhad and Dejagah's presence, and the recovery of our injured players, we can meet Thailand with full power."

He added, "Every game is different. Even back in the day, before Thailand had improved, they were still a hard opponent for us. We will try to gain the needed result from this match."

Team Melli hasn't played a single friendly match to prepare for Thailand. Regarding this matter, Nekounam said, "We are happy to have a camp before this match. To prepare for the World Cup, we must have good friendlies. Brazil scored six goals on Australia; an Australian team that has 20-30 legionnaires in differmusent leagues in the world from Germany to Spain to England. We must prepare for the World Cup. Team Melli has lost two camps, and we can't afford to lose anymore."
