Team Melli

PLDC - Tehran, A 27-player squad list has been issued by Carlos Queiroz for Iran's match against Thailand on October 15th in Azadi Stadium.  Among them, there are 6 Persepolis players, 6 Esteghlal players, and 5 Sepahan players.

Eight legionnaires, playing in eight different countries have been called up, three of which had never been called up before.

In this list there are a few surprise call-ups, and more shockingly, Queiroz has chosen not to call up Rahman Bakhtiari and Payam Sadeghian, who have been stars and two of the most effective players this season in the Iran Pro League (IPL).

Strangely, not a single player has been called up from Foolad; a team that is sitting in the first place of the IPL.

It is worthy to note that Steven Beitashour might not accept the invitation, and that Ashkan Dejagah is suffering from an injury and might not be able to play. It is also unclear if Pouladi will be match-fit, as he has been out of action for several months.
