PLDC - Tehran, In 2013 Iran has not played a friendly match with its A-squad. Team Melli's camps have been cancelled, and Queiroz and the federation have rejected several offers for friendlies from other countries.
Yet, the Federation is apparently in search of finding several acceptable friendly contenders in other continents ranging from Europe to Africa and South America.
These counties are those with good diplomatic and friendly relations with Iran that can be counted on. Ecuador is one of these countries which is considered by the federation. Carlos Queiroz has also accepted this country for a friendly match. It is important to note that Ecuador is one of the few countries that Iranians can visit without a visa.
The Iranian Football Federation has written a confidential letter to the embassy of this country and has received an initial agreement from the Ecuadorian side, and now the two federations are figuring out a time and date for this match.
The Iranian Football Federation will also contact Queiroz to ask his opinion on the date for this match, then it will be announced it to the Ecuadorian Football Federation.
With regard to the above conditions, it seems that this South American country is going to give Team Melli their first friendly match to prepare for World Cup 2014.
