PLDC - Ahvaz, After Esteghlal Khuzestan's victory over Esteghlal Tehran, Iman Mobali had some words to share in a post-match interview.
He said, "We played very well and organized. We didn't have any mistakes in the last two or three matches, but were unlucky. We were very motivated for this match, and I am happy that we won."
When asked why he left Esteghlal Tehran a few seasons ago, Mobali replied, "Ghalenoei had brought 4 or 5 players that played the same position as me, and I was worried (that I would lost playing time), and decided to leave the club. Even Ghalenoei himself told me to stay and that he believes in me."
Regarding some of his past mistakes in his footballing career, he admitted, "Yes, I made some mistakes and I was quick to leave Esteghlal, and joined Sharjah too quickly."
The Khuzestani creative midfielder concluded with a comment about originally being a Foolad player, and said, "I started my youth career with Esteghlal (Ahvaz) and moved to Foolad from this club."
*To avoid confusion, it should be noted that Esteghlal Ahvaz and Esteghlal Khuzestan are two different teams. In Iran there are several Esteghlals and several Persepolis clubs, which is very strange since most other countries' football federations' disallow using a name that is already in existence, to avoid confusion and to promote originality. Unfortunately and ironically, this is not the case in Iran.
