PLDC - Tehran, The fifth week of the Iran Pro League was wrapped up today, and there were some surprising results.
Even though Persepolis played with 10 men from the 35th minute mark, after Mehrdad Kafshgari was ejected for a hard foul, they played a better match than their hosts and created more scoring opportunities. The only goal of the match was scored by Omid Alishah in the 73rd minute, to give The Reds three points. Malavan were unable to pose threat to the Red Army, and were left empty handed in their home stadium.
Sepahan looked to gain three points in Shiraz against Fajr Sepasi. Radomir Djalovic gave Sepahan the lead in the 42nd minute of the match. But in the second half, with goals from Mohammad Ansari (64') and Mohammad Heydari (83'), Fajr Sepasi recorded their first win of the season. However, even with today's victory, Fajr Sepasi is still in the last stop.
Saipa visited Zob Ahan in Fooladshahr Stadium, and this match ended with a goalless draw.
Tractor Sazi was unable to take advantage of their home-game in Yadegar Emam Stadium against Mes, and this match also ended with a goalless draw.
Gostaresh visited Saba in Qom, and both these teams scored two goals each. Veteran striker, Reza Enayati, scored both goals for Saba (34', 62'). And Gostaresh's goals came from Iman Moosavi (4') and Mehrdad Bayarami (29').
Rah Ahan Soorinet lost in their home stadium (Takhti Tehran) to Foolad. Luciano Pereira Mendes scored the only goal of the match from the penalty spot in the 48th minute, to give Foolad the victory, and put them on top of the table with 12 points.
And last but not least, the highest scoring match of the week was played in Takhti Stadium in Ahvaz. Esteghlal Khuzestan was defeated by their guests, Naft Tehran, by a score of 4-2. Both of Esteghlal Khuzestan's goals were scored by Iman Mobali (45', 72' P). And Naft Tehran's goals came from Mehrdad Oladi (10'), Reza Noroozi (12'. 16') and Rasool Navidkia (85').
