AAP - Adelaide United defender Iain Fyfe could quit the A-League for a lucrative playing deal in Iran.

Fyfe will fly to Iran on Friday night for further discussions with Mes Kerman club.

"Iain has received a very good offer and we have agreed to allow him to travel there to further those discussions," Adelaide United's general manager of football operations, Michael Petrillo, said in a statement.

Fyfe, a 31-year-old who has played 163 A-League games, signed a two-season contract extension with Adelaide in February.
