TEHRANTIMES - Peresepolis striker Gholamreza Rezaei admitted he will leave Tehran giants in the January transfer window due to lack of playing time.
The former Foolad and Saba striker fell out of favor at Persepolis and have not played a single minute in the last five matches. He is eager to join a team that uses him in the starting line-up in order to have the chance to be called up by Iranian national team coach Carlos Queiroz.
“The most important reason that I would leave Persepolis is Team Melli. I have no problem with the club president or the coach. We talked and I will leave Persepolis with mutual consent. All I want is to play in the World Cup 2014 for my country. I should play regularly in the league to have the chance of being called up by Queiroz”, Rezaei said.
Rezaei earned 46 caps for Iran and scored 10 goals.
