PLDC - Tehran, Mojtaba Jabbari expresses his dissatisfaction with his former club and says that his departure was the decision of Esteghlal's executives, not his.
Jabbari who was booed by Esteghlal's fan leaders during the ceremonial match of WC 98 vs WC 2014 selects, reacted during an interview after the game, "I am upset and I don't know why they booed me. When the club didn't want me, how is it my fault? They didn't want to resign me and I had no other choice but to join Sepahan. Why must I be booed because of this? I hope this doesn't happen in any stadium again."
Esteghlal faced a lot of financial trouble in the preseason and it is speculated that they released Jabbari because they could not pay him his desired salary. The club also almost lost Nekounam, but was able to keep him after long negotiations.
Jabbari is Team Melli's CAM (center attacking midfielder) and the key play maker for Iran. He was a vital part of Iran's qualification campaign for World Cup 2014.
Since Jabbari's departure, Esteghlal has signed Francisco Jaílson de Sousa AKA Jaja, who is a Brazilian CAM.
