PLDC - Tehran, Persepolis of Tehran and Foolad of Ahvaz met in a friendly match that was watched by 2000 spectators. The game ended in Foolad's favour by a score of 2-1

In the 30th minute, Mehdi Noori scored the first goal of the match for Foolad from the penalty spot. Esmaeil Sharifat scored Foolad's second goal in the 55th minute, and Ghasem Dehnavi scored Persepolis' lone goal in the 66th minute from the penalty spot.

Reza Haghighi received a red card after he interfered with a Foolad penalty kick in the 15th minute of the match.

Foolad's goalkeeper, Milad Homayooni was also ejected from the game in the 61st minute as he fouled an approaching Persepolis player. Ayoob Kalantari was the third player to receive a red car in the 90th minute due to fouling Ghasem Dehnavi.

Although the game was supposed to be a friendly, it was filled with fouls, hard tackles, penalties and red cards. This match set the mood for a couple of heated clashes in the coming season.
