PLDC - Tehran, After five sessions of negotiation with the officials of Persepolis, Karim Ansarifard, the highly anticipated striker reached an agreement yesterday afternoon to renew his contract.
It was decided that Ansarifard should attend the Reds training session after signing the contract, but this decision was reversed by Ali Daei.
He was informed of this decision by a phone call and the Reds announced that they no long needed him. Therefore, Karim Ansarifard’s file was closed and he won't be part of the Persepolis squad this season.
Ansarifard was the top scorer in the Iran Pro League in the 2011-2012 season for his former club Saipa with 21 goals. However his performance dropped significantly after he joined the Red Army and he was subsequently dropped from Team Melli.
He was said to be the replacement for Ali Daei after a long drought of effective strikers for Team Melli, however he failed to meet up to the challenge and ironically it was Daei who cut him from the roster.
