PLDC - Tehran, After the head of the Iranian football federation (Ali Kaffashian) met with South Korean officials, both parties announced that they plan to organize a friendly match between the two nations.

However, Team Melli boss, Carlos Queiroz did not agree with this deal as he believes that it wouldn't benefit Iran. South Korea lost both their home and away match against Iran in the last round of World Cup qualifications.

Queiroz states, "Playing against Korea will not benefit us. I can't say that there would be no benefit at all, but we should play teams that are similar to the teams that will be grouped with us next year. Korea is a good team but we are not going to be grouped with another Asian team, and we have already played enough Asian teams. We need to play against South Americans and other continents."

He has told officials that Iran doesn't need to play Brazil or Argentina, as teams such as Chile or Peru would be more suitable.

Team Melli will hold its first World Cup preparation training camp next month. Iran will most likely play an African country. Cameroon has shown interest in playing Team Melli with their full squad, if Iran provides good facilities for them.

There will be a second camp at the end of next month which will most likely take place in eastern Europe. Queiroz has requested that the federation peruse a friendly match against either Serbia or Croatia. His aim is to play this friendly in either of the Balkan nations to save costs for the federation, and also to introduce the squad to playing outside of their comfort zone.
