GOAL - The Libyan international has agreed a deal with the Airtricity Premier Division club that will keep him at Tallaght Stadium until 2014

Shamrock Rovers have completed the signing of Eamon Zayed, bringing the striker back to the League of Ireland following his release from Iranian club Aluminium Hormozgan.

The 29-year-old was the Airtricity League's top scorer in 2011 with Derry City, but left the Candystripes to join Iran Pro League side Persepolis. The Dubliner is a Libyan international, winning his first cap in 2010,before  going on to make 4 appearances for his father's home country.

Zayed brings plenty of League of Ireland experience to Tallaght Stadium, having previously lined out for Bray Wanderers, Drogheda United, Sporting Fingal, and most recently Derry City, scoring 118 goals in 252 league games and winning League of Ireland, FAI Cup, Setanta Cup, and League of Ireland Cup medals along the way.

The signing is Trevor Croly's first foray into the transfer market this summer, with striker Ciaran Kilduff leaving on loan to join Cork City. Zayed has signed with the Hoops until the end of the 2014 season, and could be in line to make his debut at the Carlisle Grounds against Bray Wanderers on Friday.
