PLDC - Iran is preparing for the 2013 AFC U-22 Championship, which is ironically being held on January 2014 in Oman.
After his meetings with Ali Kaffashian and Mehdi Mohammad Nabi, Ali Mansourian said, "We have planned to hold a camp from September 2nd to the 10th. The U-22 team will have six camps, two of which will be mini-camps. We will play eight friendlies; six of them will be with foreign teams and two of them will be with domestic ones. If Persepolis and Esteghlal agree, we will play them this month, otherwise we will play other Pro League teams."
Mansourian continued, "In the next few days we will announce our squad, which will include either 23 or 24 players, depending on how many goalkeepers are called up."
Regarding the location of the camps, he explained, "We will have camps in Kuwait and Ukraine, between October and November. And we are planning a camp for the end of November or December, which we want to host in a place that has a similar climate to Oman. If we decide to host this camp in Iran, we will host it in Persian Gulf islands, otherwise we will move it to Qatar or UAE."
