PLDC - Tehran, Persepolis defeat Mes in Azadi Stadium, but still fail to top the table.
The Reds started attacking right from the beginning of the game, but their numerous crosses on Mes's net were not successful and the first half ended scoreless.
Persepolis had been unable to defeat Mes in the last six matches before this game, so they were very ambitious to win.
Payam Sadeghian turned ideals into reality when he scored the first goal of the match in the 66th minute. This newly signed player has been a key member of the Red Army so far this season, and surely the best buy of the club.
In the 75th minute, Dehnavi's header found the back of the net to give Persepolis a two goal lead.
Mes's Brazilian player, Edinho, created several chances on Persepolis's net, but the Kermani club failed to convert and the match ended 2-0 in the Reds' favour.
Persepolis are now second in the Iran Pro League standings with 7 points, trailing behind Sepahan only because of less goals scored.
