PLDC - Ulsan, In a news conference before the Iran vs South Korea clash, Carlos Queiroz said, “First of all, on behalf of Team Melli I congratulate the Korean National Team for their being qualified for the World Cup. It is our deep desire to play a good match and  this is from the bottom of our hearts.”

The head coach of Team Melli also added, “We are here to respect the Korean National Team and finish our mission so that we finalize our climb to the World Cup with great motivation.”

Regarding the comments of the South Korean player he said, “With regard to my 33 years of experience in different countries, I have not heard anything about blood and revenge before a match! Then, we have to finish it here. I know both football and Korea very well. All people of the world know them as a polite, kind, and altruist nation and I too believe so. Our view regarding the game never changes just from one or two persons views.”

In response to a question about whether he bought an Uzbekistan jersey for Choi Kang-Hee or not, he said, “Lets have some fun and be happier. I was ready to bring a jersey for him, but when he asked for 11 jerseys, I could not prepare that number. In fact, I will shake hands with Mr Choi after the game and celebrate our qualification for the World Cup together. It will be my honour to give our Team Melli jersey as a gift to him.”
