PLDC - Tehran, Ali Daei has chosen Mohammad Nouri as the first captain of Persepolis.

The Persepolis attacking midfielder acknowledged, "This is a great honour in the world of football (to be a chosen as a captain), especially in big teams like Persepolis... This armband has been worn by the likes of Parvin, Daei, Derakhshan, Panjali, Bagheri and Peyrovani. I hope I can live up to the fans' expectations."

Reza Haghighi missed a penalty in The Reds' first match against Tractor Sazi after Nouri allowed him to take the shot. The Perspolis captain reflects, "Haghighi and I are the penalty takers of the team. I told him to take the shot (against Tractor). With Ali Daei's approval, I will take the penalty next time. Reza tricked Lak (Tractor GK) but he was able to stop the shot with his leg. But we ended up winning the game anyway."
