TEHRANTIMES - Lebanon coach Theo Buecker believes Tuesday's game is a must-win match for the Iranian football team.

Iran will face Lebanon in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium in the FIFA 2014 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.

Carlos Queiroz's team lost to Lebanon 1-0 in the World Cup qualifier in September in Beirut. The Persians humiliated Lebanese team 5-0 in February in the AFC Asian Cup 2015 qualifying in Tehran.

Now, two teams will face each other once again in another match. The match is not important for Lebanon since the team has no chance to advance to the World Cup.

Last week, South Korean Kim Chi-woo denied Lebanon’s home victory in the dying moments of the match in Beirut.

“It’s one of the most important matches for Iran football team, however it’s not important for us. Also some of our key players will miss the match due to suspension,” the German told the reporters at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport on Saturday.

South Korea and Uzbekistan are level on 11 points at the top of Group A, with the third-placed Iran only one point behind them.

Qatar is fourth with seven points and Lebanon remains at the end of the table with five points.
