PLDC - Tehran, Javad Nekounam extended his contract for a year with the Tehran Blues after a meeting with Fathollahzadeh. In this meeting, Ministry of Culture representatives: Alireza Mansourian, Behnam Abolghasempour and Seyed Mehdi Alavi were also present.

They were able to convince Nekounam to stay with the club and Fathollahzadeh gave Nekounam a cheque with the day's date on it.

Fathollahzadeh had a long discussion with the club president after introducing the new members of the board of directors to him. They both agreed that with the World Cup coming up next summer, and the current tension between Iran and the Emirates, it would be best if Nekounam's demands are met and the Team Melli captain resigns with the club.
