TEHRANTIMES - Portuguese Nelo Vingada will assist his countryman Carlos Queiroz in Iran’s three upcoming matches in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

Former Persepolis coach joined the Iranian football team in Dubai camp on Tuesday.

“I’m Queiroz’s good friend. I want to help Iran to advance to the World Cup, that’s why I am here. I believe that Iran can qualify for the competitions,” Vingada was quoted by Fars News Agency as saying.

Iran will face Qatar in a must-win game on June 4 in the Qatari capital Doha. The Persians will also play Lebanon and South Korea on June 11 and 18 respectively.

Iran is third in Group A with seven points. Uzbekistan leads the group with 11 points with one game more, followed by South Korea with 10 points.
