TEHRANTIMES - Persepolis football team announced that Ali Daei will take charge the team from next season.

The board of management of Persepolis appointed Daei on Monday as Yahya Golmohammadi’s replacement.

Golmohammadi stepped down as Persepolis coach after the Iranian popular team lost to Sepahan in penalty shootout in Iran’s Hazfi Cup.

Mohammad Mayelikohan and Mansour Ebrahimzadeh were also among the nominees.

Daei will return for a second stint as coach of Persepolis.

Rah Ahan finished in eighth place in the Iran Professional League under guidance of Daei last season.

Ali Daei, the former captain of the Iran football team and Persepolis, is the world's all-time leading scorer in international matches.
