Shenzhen: Wu Zhuoxi, the head coach of Shenzhen Nanling Tielang FC, is determined his side will give it their all to impress on their the continental futsal debut at the upcoming AFC Club Futsal Championship 2013 qualifiers starting next month.
The former China national futsal team captain will bring his team to Kuala Lumpur for the qualifiers where they pitted alongside GH Bank of Thailand and debutants Pasargad FC of the Philippines and Tainan City of Chinese Taipei.
Having signed one of the world’s futsal marquee players Vahid Shamsaee (pictured), the 30-year old has vowed that has side will, at the very last, make their mark in the international arena, as they look to book a ticket to the August finals.
“This will be our first experience participating at international level competition,” he told www.the-afc.com.
“To be very honest, there is no specific expectation but I am confident my team will play some beautiful futsal and showcase Chinese futsal to the rest of Asia.
“We have an exciting squad – a perfect blend of youth and experience. We are delighted to sign a top player like Vahid (Shamsaee),
“He is an icon and it’s incredible that he has been playing at such a high level for years. I have no doubt about his ability but I expect him to adapt to the system and style of our team quickly and I am sure he will bring a lot positive chemistry into this squad.
“I also expect our players to learn both from his excellent futsal skills and tremendous experience,” he added.
Shamsaee will arrive on Monday to join the two-time Chinese champions. Shenzhen will start their Zone Two qualifiers campaign with a tie against Pasargad on April 11.
