TEHRANTIMES - Iran’s Traktorsazi football team kicked off this year's Asian Champions League with a 3-1 win over Al Jazira of the United Arab Emirates in Group A on Tuesday.


Traktorsazi striker Mehdi Seyed Salehi was on target in the 37th minute. Javad Kazemian doubled the lead before the hour mark.

Ali Mabkhout pulled a goal back for the Emirati team in the 79th minute but substitute Masoud Ebrahimzadeh scored Traktorsazi’s third goal one minute later.

Traktorsazi midfielder Mohammad Ebrahimi was sent off by referee in the 84th minute after receiving his second yellow card.

On Wednesday, Iran’s Esteghlal will play Al Rayyan in Doha and Sepahan will host Al Nasr of the United Arab Emirates in Isfahan.
