TEHRANTIMES - Al Jazira coach Luis Milla praised Iran’s Traktorsazi ahead of a match against the Iranian team in the AFC Champions League group stage in Tabriz.
The Spaniard has recently replaced Brazilian Paolo Bonamigo in the Emirati team.
“This is an important match. Traktorsazi will participate in the AFC Champions League for the first time. It will inspire them to play better,” the 46-year-old said.
“I’ve been named as the coach of the team in the last few days but you need time to change the things. My predecessor has done his best but I have my own ideas as well,” Milla added.
“I’ve already worked at the Spain Under-21s for four years, but I’ve not experienced work at the United Emirates. I will work hard to satisfy the club’s officials,” the Al Jazira coach concluded.
Milla, who played for both of Spain’s biggest clubs, Barcelona and Real Madrid, started his coaching career as an assistant to his former colleague Michael Laudrup at Getafe in the 2007-08 season.
