PLDC - Tehran, The chief executive officer of Esteghlal presented his resignation to the board of directors of the Club and submitted a copy to the office of the sports minister.

A reliable source said, “Sports Ministry’s failure to fulfill the 7-billion-Toman liability was the cause for Fathollahzadeh’s resignation. In his letter he emphatically requested an urgent replacement for his post so that his resignation does not bring about any harmful effect on the Team in the present sensitive conditions. Already, there have been rumors in private circles that he had said that “While I am the chief executive officer of the Team, no financial support is provided for the Team, so I resign just for Esteghlal.”  These remarks have not yet been officially confirmed.

It is also heard that there is a great possibility that Shahriyari a member of Esteghlal board of directors will replace Fathollahzadeh.

Fathollahzadeh has asked his friends not to publicize the news through the mass media so that it does not affect the morale of the Team.
