TEHRANTIMES - The Sepahan football team edge passed Rah Ahan in 20th week of the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Tuesday to secure second place with 47 points at the IPL table.

The match was initially scheduled to be played on January 4 but was postponed due to air pollution in Tehran.

The match ended with 1-0 result in favor of the visitors thanks to an 81st minute goal by Javahir Sukay. Sepahan is now two points behind the IPL leader, Esteghlal.

“Both teams played good football and had decent goal-scoring opportunities, but fortunately we scored the only goal of the match,” Sepahan head coach Zlatko Kranjcar said.

“Three teams have the chance of becoming this season’s champions, one of them is Sepahan. We will fight till the end and I hope we’d defend our title,” he added

Rah Ahan remained on 10th place with 33 points.
