TEHRANTIMES - Abdollah Veisi’s short-lived reign came to an end when he was fired only eight months after appointing the Paykan coach.

The Tehran-based club dismissed the coach following the poor results in the Iranian Professional League (IPL).

Veisi, who steered Saba to fourth place in Iran Professional League last year, had taken charge of Paykan team on a two-year contract.

Former Esteghlal coach Firooz Karimi replaced Veisi in Paykan until the end of the season.

Paykan is 16th in the IPL standings table, six points above the relegation zone.
