TEHRANTIMES - After watching Friday’s match between Esteghlal and Persepolis football teams, former Italian defender Franco Baresi criticized the lack of quality of the game.
The former legendary defender of AC Milan and Italy was invited by Persepolis club.
The Iranian old foes Esteghlal and Persepolis played out a goalless draw in front of about 100,000 spectators.
“It was not an exciting match. No more scoring chances were there. The fans were not satisfied with the teams’ performances. It would have been better if we saw a goal in this match,” Baresi said.
“Persepolis and Esteghlal must have the kind of players, who can change the results. It seemed two teams preferred to go to the dressing room with a draw,” the 52-year-old added.
