TEHRANTIMES - Former Persepolis coach Mustafa Denizli has reached an agreement with first league Rizespor, according to Turkish media.

Denizli appointed as coach of the team on an 18-month contract.

Denizli parted company with Persepolis at the end of the last season citing some personal problems.

The 62-year-old Turk was appointed as head coach of the Iranian giant team in December 2011 but announced his resignation in late June.

The former Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas coach has worked in Persepolis in 2006-07season as well.

The Iranian media had reported that Denizli will return to Persepolis to replace Manuel Jose but team general manager Mohammad Ruyanian denied the reports saying the prominent coach cannot return to Persepolis since his father-in-law is unwell.

Persepolis has appointed Yahya Golmohammadi as new head coach last week.
