TEHRANTIMES - Esteghlal general manager Ali Fatollahzadeh declared that Javad Nekounam is not on the verge of leaving the club.

The reports suggest that Nekounam will leave Esteghlal in the winter transfer window and likely join an Emirati football team.

Nekounam has no intention of moving away from Esteghlal amid rumors of interest from Emirati teams, Fatollahzadeh said.

Striker Amin Manouchehri, who joined Esteghlal from Saipa in the current season, has become surplus to requirements at the team.
