TEHRANTIMES – The Esteghlal football team could reportedly sell its injured Brazilian midfielder Fabio Januario in the winter transfer window.

Esteghlal Dr. Amin Norouzi said on Friday that the Brazilian midfielder must undergo the knife otherwise his knee would not be healed properly.

The MRI scan has showed the player damaged his posterior cruciate ligament.

Januario’s current deal expires at the end of the season and the team’s officials will be forced to sell the 33-year-old Brazilian before he is a free agent.

Januario returned to Esteghlal for his second stint in July 2012 but played just 10 games for the Blues.
