Mideasttime - The Khuzestan based club has disappointed Esteghlal FC for transferring Arash Afshin by asking ‘much’ money from the giant club. Amir Ghalenoei, the head coach of Esteghlal FC, was interested in transferring Arash Afshin from Foolad to Esteghlal and the negotiations between two clubs have been started but the current head coach of Foolad prefers to keep Afshin in his squad rather than losing him.
To achieve this goal, the officials of Foolad have asked their Tehranis counterparts to pay 5,000,000,000 Rials (sum as $170,000) to allow Arash Afshin to join their team. This has stopped the negotiations because Esteghlal FC cannot afford that much money for transferring Arash Afshin.
Afshin, 23, is one of those young talented football players in Iran. He started his youth career in Esteghlal FC but he returned to his motherland on 2008 to play for Foolad. On 2009, he ascended to senior squad of Foolad. He has appeared in 67 games and scored 20 goals for Foolad until now. After good performance with Iran U23 in 2010 Asian Games and also in Foolad he convinced Afshin Ghotbi to invite him to Team Melli. On 2 January 2011, Afshin was called up to the Iran for the team’s friendly match against Angola and made his debut. He was also one of Iran players in 2011 AFC Asian Cup.
