PLDC - Tehran, IFF President announced that this federation had arrived at a decisive decision not to hold Hazfi Cup.

According to ISNA, while the head of League Organization had announced that the Football Federation had not decisively decided for holding or not holding Hazfi Cup, Ali Kafashian announced that these competitions would not be held.

He added that the priority for Iran football in the current year is the climbing of Team Melli to the World Cup; therefore, the Hazfi Cup competitions will not be held.

In response to the question that whether it is possible to hold these Matches without the presence of Team Melli players, he said: “because of World Cup competitions, this year the calendar of Iran Clubs competitions is crowded enough and if the Hazfi Cup is not held nothing unusual happens."

With regard to the 16-team Premier League the next year, we can hold Hazfi Cup competitions, but it is certain that the Hazfi Cup will not be held in 91-92 season.
