TEHRANTIMES - Esteghlal football team defeated Saba thanks to an early goal from striker Arash Borhani on Monday.

In the match held in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, Esteghlal beat Saba 1-0.

Borhani scored just one minute into the match.  

The Iranian giant moved to fourth place of Iran Professional League table, one point adrift of leader Sepahan.

Esteghlal and Sepahan have one game in hand each.  

Elsewhere, Damash played out a goalless draw with Zob Ahan, Naft was held to a 1-1 draw against Traktorsazi, Mes lost 2-1 to Malavan in its home, Aluminum drew 3-3 with Sepasi and Foolad beat Sanat Naft 3-1.

Persepolis will face Saipa on Tuesday and Rah Ahan play Paykan on Thursday.
