TEHRANTIMES - Persepolis and Esteghlal football teams will play in Iran Professional League (IPL) on Friday.
Tehran derby between the Iranian giants will be played at Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
Persepolis has lost three matches out of five in the current season. The Reds are 16th in the standings table. It could be the last match for Portuguese coach Manuel Jose in Persepolis hot seat.
Esteghlal is also 9th in the table with one loss only.
Persepolis beat its archrival Esteghlal 3-2 in February with one man down in a dramatic match.
Eamon Zayed completed a ten minute hat-trick for Persepolis in the match, helping his team come back from 2-0 down to a stunning 3-2 victory; in front of a crowd of 70, 000.
Esteghlal and Persepolis have played against each other 74 times, with Esteghlal winning 24 games, Persepolis taking 18 victories, and 32 matches ending in a draw.
