TEHRANTIMES - Iran’s Olympic medal winners Behdad Salimi and Ehsan Hadadi joined Persepolis club on Saturday.
Iran’s super heavyweight weightlifter Behdad Salimi won the gold medal by hoisting 455kg in total in the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Ehsan Hadadi made history by winning the Iran’s first track-and-field medal in the Olympic Games.
The 27-year-old claimed a silver medal in the men's discus with a throw of 68.18 meters.
“I am so happy to join Persepolis. I like the team since I was a child. The numerous Persepolis’ fans will inspire me in the Iran’s athletic competitions,” Hadadi said.
Persepolis football team is the Iranian most popular team and one the Asian biggest club.
