TEHRANTIMES - Bart Caubergh of Belgium has been appointed as fitness coach for the Iran national football team, according to Iran Football Federation.

The 28-year-old replaced Michael 'Mick' McDormott, who left the team in July to join Al-Nasr of the UAE.

Bart Caubergh began his coaching career in 2010 for Belgian football team KRC Genk, before joining Emirati club Al Jazira in 2011.

He is in Hungary now to train the Iranian football team. Carlos Queiroz’s team will face Tunisia in a friendly match on August 15 in Kecskemet, Hungary.

Iran is gearing up for the final stage of the Asian qualifying for the 2014 World Cup.

Iran has been grouped with South Korea, Uzbekistan, Lebanon and Qatar in the competition.

The team is scheduled to face Lebanon on September 11 in Beirut.
