TEHRANTIMES - Persepolis was defeated by Saba 2-0 here at the Azadi Stadium on Sunday.


Milad Soleyman-Fallah opened the scoring in the 75th minutes.

With one minute remaining, Soleyman-Fallah was brought down by Persepolis defender Mohsen Bengar and referee Mohsen Torki showed the penalty spot. Akbar Sadeghi converted a penalty into the goal.

Persepolis football team started good in Iran Professional League (IPL) with a victory over Sanat Naft in an away game but lost its home game to Sepasi 4-3 in the IPL second week.

The Tehran giant escaped a defeat last week against newly-promoted Gahar Zagros at the Azadi Stadium.

Furthermore, Persepolis assistant coach Mohsen Ashouri announced his resignation on Monday due to the personal reasons.
