KABIR - The United Arab Emirates based club, Al Sharjah SC, is trying to transfer Masoud Shojaei from CA Osasuna.
Officials of Al Sharjah have negotiated with the authorities from CA Osasuna over this subject. It seems Osasuna doesn’t like to lose its high class midfielder and they have denied the offer made by Al Sharjah. The buyout clause of Masoud’s contract with Osasuna is €3.5 million.
Currently Shojaei is the only Iranian player working in European leagues. Javad Nekounam, the other Iranian player of Osasuna, recently left this club and signed for Iran’s Esteghlal.
Masoud Shojaei started his career with Sanat Naft FC, before moving to Saipa F.C. of Karaj in the Iran Pro League, at age 19. After the 2006 World Cup, Shojaei moved to the United Arab Emirates and signed for Al Sharjah SC. On 23 June 2008, after previous attempts from VfL Wolfsburg in Germany and Italy’s S.S.C. Napoli, Shojaei signed with Spanish side CA Osasuna for three years, teaming up with compatriot Javad Nekounam.
Masoud spent the entire 2011–12 on the sidelines, due to injury. However he recently returned to action and played his first game for Osasuna after being sidelined for more than 15 months due to injury.
