PFDC - GRONINGEN, Masoud Shojaei scored his first goal for Osasuna after his long injury absence, marking the first goal in a 2-2 against Dutch side Groningen.

Shojaei stepped up to take a penalty shot shortly before halftime, but his effort was denied by the keeper. However, the Iranian winger got to the rebound himself and converted.

After some convincing substitute appearences, Shojaei, who had been sidelined for more than a year due to complications following a foot injury, started the last two friendly matches for the La Liga side.

The 28-year-old, who plays his club football for Osasuna since 2008, could make his comeback in Iran's national team soon, although a participation in Team Melli's friendly match against Tunisia on August 15 might be a premature return.
