TEHRANTIMES - Iran will play a friendly match against Tunisia on August 13 in Hungary.


“The negotiations are ongoing but the contract has not yet been signed,” vice-president of Iran Football Federation Mohammad-Hadi Ayatollahi said.  

Iranian football officials suggested the friendly and Tunisia coach Sami Trabelsi welcomed the suggestion.

Tunisia is gearing up for a match against Sierra Leone on March 22 in the African World Cup qualifiers.

Iran is grouped with South Korea, Uzbekistan, Qatar and Lebanon for the final round of the Asian World Cup qualifying stages and need to finish at least in second place to directly qualify for Brazil 2014.

The Persians are scheduled to face South Korea in Tehran on October 16 in the World Cup qualifiers.

Iran is second place in the group, two points under South Korea, who has six points.
