TEHRANTIMES - Son of Ahmad Reza Abedzadeh joined Persepolis football team on Sunday.

Amir Abedzadeh met Persepolis general manager Mohammad Ruyanian and reached the agreement to join the Iranian giant on a three-year contract.

Ahmad-Reza Abedzadeh is Persepolis’ former keeper and now his son has followed in his father's footsteps.

Amir Abedzadeh, 19, started his career with Persepolis in 2006 then joined Bentford and Tottenham youth teams. The keeper became a member of Los Angeles Blues in 2011-12.

Persepolis has previously signed a contract with Zob Ahan keeper Shahab Gordan as its first choice.

The Reds are going to hire a foreign goalkeeper as well.

Ahmad Reza Abedzadeh, known as Eagle of Asia, led Iran to the World Cup 1998 with his fantastic saves against Australia in a qualifier in Melbourne.

He joined Persepolis in 1994 and hung up his gloves in 2000.
