AFC - Iran defeated Japan 4-1 in their friendly match played as part of the preparations for the upcoming AFC U-16 Championship 2012 starting in September in Iran.

The Japanese U-16 team are in Tehran to play three friendly matches with two of them being matches against the Iran national U-16 team and one against local club Rah Ahan’s youth team.

PAS Stadium and Rah Ahan Stadiums in Tehran are the venues of the competition starting on September 22. Hosts Iran are in Group A along with Kuwait, Yemen and Laos while Japan’s Group C is a ‘group of death’ with the Japanese scheduled to meet Korea Republic, DPR Korea and Saudi Arabia.

The tournament will kick off with hosts Iran taking on Laos on September 22.
