PTV - Iran's beach football team beat China 2 to nil to capture its first ever Asian championship in addition to being recognized as the most technical team in the competitions.

The Iranian team defeated the host country’s team on Thursday at China’s Fengxiang Beach, despite the presence of 10,000 cheering Chinese fans, after beating the Palestinian team 9-1 in the semifinals match on Wednesday.

Iranian players Hasan Abdollahi and Mohammad Ahmadzadeh scored their team’s two goals in the match, leading the team to win its first gold medal in the history of the Asian Beach Football Olympics.

Iran had earlier defeated Japan, Thailand and Qatar to reach the finals, and was officially recognized as the best and the most technical team of the competition.

Meanwhile Palestine was able to defeat Lebanon 6-5 earlier on Thursday to secure the competitions’ third spot.
