TEHRANTIMES - Persepolis football team officials want to sign a contract with well-known French coach Bruno Metsu, according to the Iranian media.

Metsu, 58, has been jobless since Qatari club Al Gharafa sacked him in mid-March.

Mustafa Denizli has not yet returned to Tehran to take charge Persepolis for the new season and he will reportedly have reached an agreement with Turkish giant Besiktas.

Persepolis negotiated with Metsu’s agent. The Frenchman will have to wait for Denizli and if the Turk doesn’t come back to Iran Metsu will be appointed as Persepolis coach.

Metsu has coached Senegal, the UAE and Qatar national teams as well as French clubs Lille, Valenciennes, Sedan and Al Gharafa of Qatar.
