AFC - Iran midfielder Mojtaba Jabari, who was substituted in the 75th minute in Iran’s 1-0 win over Uzbekistan on Sunday, will miss the Central Asians' home tie against Qatar on Tuesday after opting out due to a series of recent health-related complaints.
The Esteghlal midfielder failed to complete the match in Tashkent where Iran pulled a dramatic last-minute 1-0 win to take the initiative in the final round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers.
According to reports in Iran, coach Carlos Quiroz has decided not to get any replacement for Jabari as star midfielder Ali Karimi is expected to play in a more advanced role against Qatar.
Meanwhile, the Iran Football Federation has decided to play two international friendly matches against Syria in August and DPR Korea in October. Iran will also meet Lebanon in September followed by October and November home clashes with Uzbekistan and Korea Republic respectively.
