TEHRANTIMES - Persepolis of Iran secured its place in the last 16 of the AFC Champions League after beating Al Shabab of the UAE on Tuesday.
In the match held at the Maktoum Bin Rashid Stadium, Persepolis defeated the host 3-1 in Group D of the ACL group stage.
Easa Mohammed Ibrahim put Al Shabab in the lead after eight minutes. Eamon Zayed equalized the match with a header in the 42nd minute.
Mehrdad Pooladi put the ball back of the Al Shabab’s net with a brilliant free-kick in the 53rd minute.
Hossein Badamaki, who came off the bench, made it 3-1 in the 90th minute.
