Nazari is the son of Iranian and Pinoy parents and was born in Sweden and therefore would be eligible to compete for the national teams of the Philippines, Iran or Sweden.
In 2009, Nazari was called up to the Swedish U17 national team, earning 12 caps and scoring three times. He then scored three goals in six matches for the U19 - a quite impressive stat for a central midfielder.
The 18-year-old meanwhile had 11 appearances for Swedish heavy-weights Malmö FF, participating in seven league matches, once in the UEFA Champions League, and three times in the Svenska Cup in which he also scored a goal.
Unfortunately, he once stated his number one choice would be to play football for the Swedish National Team in an interview with Swedish sports newspaper “Expressen”.
"I think I should be in Sweden's national team, but you never know", Nazari said when asked which team would be more suitable for him.
This, however, was before Iran boss Carlos Queiroz recently travelled to Sweden to analyze and talk to Nazari for a possible call-up to Team Melli in the near future that may put the hopeful in Iran's squad as early as June.
Amin Nazari also has an elder brother, Omid (20, midfielder), who went through Malmö's youth team as well before joining second league side Ängerholms FF in 2011.
Name: Amin Nazari
Date of birth (age): April 26, 1993 (18)
Current club: Malmö FF
Height: 180 centimeters; 5''11''
Position: Central Midfielder
Market value: 500.000€ (600.000$)
Probability of Team Melli future: 60% - The youngster already is on Carlos Queiroz' radar, however, Nazari once stated he would prefer a Swedish future. Be that as it may, the 18-year-old still has a long way to go with decision making and his football career in general and it is questionable if he will already decide this summer. Anyways, Team Melli indeed could need some fresh blood as back-up for the veteran central devensive midfield duo Javad Nekounam and Andranik Teymourian and certainly the door is open for Nazari.
