The game has been provisionally fixed for April 18 in Tehran, Iran.
Chairman of the NFF's technical committee, Chris Green revealed that contact had been made with the Iranian football federation and that a decision on the friendly game would be made in the 'shortest possible time.'
"We have been approached by the Iranian FA and they want a friendly date with the Super Eagles. We are still studying their proposal and (the NFF) will arrive at a decision at the shortest possible time," Green told SuperSport.com.
The NFF chief then spoke on the upcoming friendly game against seven-time African champions, Egypt.
"The game against Egypt will hold on either April 15 or 16. The host city is Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Egypt is a top side and they will give our national team a very good test," he said.
Nigeria's Super Eagles are ranked 9th in Africa and 57th in World.
